Friendlies results in preparation for Euro 2024

It's only ten days until Euro 2024 kick-offs. All participating teams are in full preparation for this tournament. In this article we discuss some of the friendlies they played.

Germany held to a goalless draw against Ukraine

In a closely watched friendly match, Germany, under the guidance of coach Julian Nagelsmann, ended in a 0-0 draw against Ukraine in Nürnberg. The game marked the return of veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who played his first international match since the 2022 World Cup. Neuer, fully recovered and fit at 38, delivered a solid performance, ensuring a clean sheet. Despite creating numerous opportunities, the German team failed to convert their chances against Ukraine’s resolute defense. England triumphs over Bosnia-Herzegovina

England, under coach Gareth Southgate, secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Newcastle. Despite resting several key players, including Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden, England showcased their depth and talent. Cole Palmer opened the scoring with a penalty in the second half, marking his first goal for the national team in just his third appearance. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane, who came off the bench, added to the scoreline with well-taken goals. Southgate utilized the opportunity to give playing time to various squad members, including Jack Grealish and Jarrad Branthwaite. Croatia: Croatia defeated North Macedonia 3-0 in Rijeka. Lovro Majer scored twice, and Marco Pasalic added a third. Mateo Kovacic celebrated his 100th international appearance.

Scotland: The Scottish team struggled but ultimately secured a 2-0 victory over Gibraltar with second-half goals from Ryan Christie and substitute Ché Adams. They will play Finland next as they prepare for their group stage matches against Germany, Switzerland, and Hungary.
