Madrid miss Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid lost against Alavéz on the weekend 1-0. This was the fourth game for Real without a win, and the fourth game for Real without scoring a single goal. These are tough times for Madrid and their new manager Lopetegui. This is the post Cristiano Ronaldo era, and the players who need to step up, so far have not. The Real Manager has only been in the job since the summer, however, it has not been a great start to his Real career and could be on the brink of getting sacked.

Once Ronaldo left this summer, Real were rumored to sign either: Neymar, Mbappe, Hazard, or Salah. None of those players materialized and instead reacquired the services of Mariano, who they sold to Lyon last season. Vinicius Junior also came in however, he has mainly played for the B team and only made two substitute appearances in the league. Both bale and Benzema have been struggling with injuries and from in the last two seasons and are finding it hard to fill Ronaldo’s shoes.

The Ex director of Real Madrid, Jorge Valdano said to the press (via IlBianconero) that there is no one like Ronaldo: "Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo? Well in this moment in time, there is a lack of faith at Real. Cristiano? He always wanted to score goals, you can see that he isn't with Real Madrid anymore since they have been struggling. He is the best player in the history of the club and you can see that they currently miss him. Let's see how things go for the club...".

It was nine fantastic years for Madrid with Ronaldo, winning the Champions League four out of the last five years. However, now that he is gone there is a sense that they are not the same force to be reckoned with. After 8 games Madrid are fourth in the table. Lucky for them, Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona have also been struggling and therefore Real are still only two points off top spot. Even though the season is still young, things are not looking so good for Real without Cristiano.
