Arsenal Tottenham match preview

Arsenal host Spurs in the first North London derby of the season. It is going to be a huge game, as only three points and two places separates the rivals. Tottenham know that if they beat Arsenal it will be a huge statement after beating Chelsea last weekend. Furthermore, they will be six points ahead of their North London rivals and will be in a good position to finish above arsenal even if it is this early in the season.

Harry Kane will be looking to continue his fine form in London derbies. He scored his 25th London derby goal against Chelsea in only 39 matches. He still has a way to go to reach Henry’s all-time record of 43 goals in the London derbies, however, Kane will be looking to add a couple more against Arsenal. Spurs looked to be playing their best football against Chelsea. Every attack it looked like they were going to score. Chelsea had no answers to what spurs were throwing at them. If Tottenham can replicate this performance against Arsenal, they will have a very good chance of winning at the Emirates.

Spurs will be without Sanchez, Dembele, and Janssen who are all injured. Rose, Trippier and Wanyama are doubtful, however, could be fit in time for Sunday’s clash. Arsenal on the other hand have Welbeck, Monreal, and Mavropanos out injured, with Koscielny and Lacazette both doubtful to make the math day squad.

Arsenal on the other hand know that if they beat Tottenham then they will overtake them in the table. Arsenal had a scrappy win against Bournemouth last weekend but will be hoping their performance will be better against Spurs. Emery’s reign so far has been pretty good at Arsenal. His first two league games were against City and Chelsea, which they lost both. However, after that they went on a 11-match win streak in all competitions which is a good achievement. However, after three consecutive league draws, they won on the weekend against Bournemouth. They still can extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 11 matches which is a good achievement for a side in transition.
