Premier League results Wednesday 1st of December
The festive month is finally here! The month everybody was waiting for. Especially the fans of the Premier League, when December has arrived it’s a matter of weeks before it’s boxing day. Until the end of 2021, we have loads of Premier League matches to watch. In this article we briefly discuss all results of the Wednesday evening on the first of December.
Southampton versus Leicester City
One of the most entertaining matches on this Wednesday evening. With three goals in the first half, Southampton had a 2-1 lead, after opening the score already within 3 minutes. Four minutes into the second half, it was James Maddison who scored the fourth goal of the night and the second for Leicester City. Both teams tried to get a winner, but the final score was 2-2.

Wolverhampton versus Burnley
This match was completely the opposite of the match we mentioned before. Without any goals, this was by far the most boring match on the night. Both Wolves and Burnley took a point and we can forget about this match.

Watford versus Chelsea
Watford versus Chelsea was a surprise package this evening. The number one against the number 17 isn’t a match people are usually looking forward to. But Watford showed the number 17 is capable to frustrate a team like Chelsea. Goals by Mount and Dennis led to a 1-1 score at half-time. Chelsea really tried in the second half, but they needed to wait until the 72nd minute, when Hakim Ziyech scored the winning goal. A great performance by Watford, but not enough to get a point.

West Ham United versus Brighton and Hove Albion
This is the match between the two surprise packages of this season so far. Not long ago both teams were fighting against relegation, now they’re in 4th and 7th on the Premier League table. It was the home team who opened the score early in the match with a goal by Soucek. A goal by Antonio got cancelled after a long VAR review and this cost West Ham, since in the end Maupay leveled the score for Brighton. A point for each team in this match.

Aston Villa versus Manchester City
This match was all about the return of Jack Grealish at Villa Park. Unfortunately for him, he was benched by Pep Guardiola. He subbed on in the 87th minute, not really the return he was hoping for. Nevertheless, it was a very important match for Man City, since they wanted to keep the gap to leaders Chelsea on 1 point. Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva got a 0-2 lead for the Cityzens. Early in the second half Ollie Watkins got one back for Aston Villa. This was the last goal of the match, so another three important points for the away team.

Everton versus Liverpool
This was the most important match of the evening. A game with a lot of side stories. Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez managing the arch enemies. Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk back where he got badly injured last time he played there. A Liverpool fighting for a title race, while Everton fights to get back in form. From the first whistle, it was clear Liverpool was the better team in this match. Jordan Henderson opened the score within 9 minutes, while Mohamed Salah doubled the lead only 10 minutes later. This moment showed there is more in life than football. When Demarai Gray got one back, it looked like Everton could do something. Mohamed Salah killed the hopes of all Evertonians in the 64th minute with his second goal of the game. In the 79th minute Diogo Jota put the icing on the cake with a beautiful goal. Even though his goal was beautiful, the best part of the match was in the 12 minute, when fans of both clubs united in clapping for Ava White. A 12 year old who got stabbed to death in the centre of Liverpool.
