FA Cup draw leaves room for big semi-finals

The draw of the 2022 FA Cup quarter finals isn’t the most exciting of all draws. That’s exactly the reason why it leaves a lot of room for some big fixtures in the semi-finals. Crystal Palace versus Everton

Crystal Palace versus Everton is probably the match where the odds of progressing to the final is equal for both teams. This match will be very hard to call for anyone to pick a winner. Palace is currently 8 points ahead of Everton on the Premier League table, but Everton played three games less. So, there is a very good possibility that the gap by the end of the season is much closer. Crystal Palace could use their home advantage to win this battle and progress to the semi-final.

Middlesbrough versus Chelsea

Chelsea is the first out of the big Premier League teams to play their quarter final. They will travel to Middlesbrough to play Boro to reach the semi-final. After losing the EFL Cup final against Liverpool earlier this season, Chelsea will be very motivated to win the FA Cup. Beating Middlesbrough isn’t easy in the FA Cup this season. Southampton versus Manchester City

This is the second battle between two Premier League teams in the 2022 FA Cup quarter finals. The quality gap between these two teams is much clearer than the gap between Palace and Everton. The last match of this draw is the one between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool. The Reds from Liverpool just won the Carabao Cup and will try to get their domestic cup double. In the quarter final they face Nottingham Forest. Forest already eliminated Arsenal earlier in this tournament, so Liverpool shouldn’t take this match lightly.
