Barcelona maintains perfect La Liga record

Barcelona continues their flawless run in La Liga, securing a 1-0 victory over Getafe on Wednesday evening. While the scoreline may have been modest, no one in Catalonia is concerned as the three points keep them unbeaten in the league.

Early goal from Lewandowski seals the win

As much of Europe focused on midweek European competitions, Barcelona played their La Liga fixture with confidence. Under the guidance of coach Hansi Flick, the team has been in excellent form, winning every match so far this season. That momentum carried into the clash against Getafe, and it was once again Robert Lewandowski who proved decisive.

The 36-year-old Polish striker, who has already netted six times in La Liga this season, continued his scoring streak. In the early stages of the match, a cross from Jules Koundé was poorly handled by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria, allowing Lewandowski to pounce on the rebound and score the game’s only goal. Lewandowski appeared to have added a second goal later in the first half, but it was disallowed for offside. Despite the near-miss, his early strike was enough to secure the win.

Defensive Getafe fails to threaten

Getafe offered little in terms of offensive threat, opting to focus on defense and time-wasting tactics. While Barcelona was unable to deliver the knockout blow, their opponents rarely threatened Marc-André ter Stegen’s goal. As the match drew to a close, Barcelona pushed to extend their lead, with chances falling to Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in the dying minutes. However, neither was able to convert, leaving the score at 1-0.

Seven wins in a row

Barcelona managed to keep Getafe at bay, maintaining their defensive solidity and securing their seventh consecutive win in La Liga. Next week, Barcelona will travel to face Osasuna, as they aim to extend their perfect start to the season. The team’s confidence continues to grow, and with Lewandowski in top form, Barcelona looks poised for another strong campaign under Flick’s leadership.
