Real Madrid are stomping into the upcoming season with a powerful 2-1 win against the Mexican team, Santos Laguna, in Las Vegas.

Xabi Alonso scored the first goal within the first 15 minutes of the match; it was a wonderful strike from thirty yards out. Santos Laguna were able to even up the score before the 30 minute mark after a inside box tap in from Cristian Suarez.

The winning goal was scored by Khedira, who took an opportunity when the ball bounced off his face following the Santos keeper loosing control of the ball.

After the match, the assistant coach for Madrid, Aitor Karanka, commented that the game had been a good workout for the team. He said it was a good preparation for their upcoming games.

The next game Real Madrid will be playing on their USA tour is against AC Milan; this will prove to be a challenging match.
