Domenech admits a miracle is needed after the Mexico loss
Domenech, the French coach, has admitted that France is in need of a miracle if they are to be part of the last 16 in this year's World Cup. The news comes after a disappointing 2-0 loss to Mexico yesterday, with Mexico performing well and putting France under real pressure. Mexico scored twice in the second half, with goals from team substitute Hernandez and a winning penalty from the veteran Blanco. Mexico's win was thoroughly well deserved as France did little to create chances during play and their performance wasn't up to scratch. Domenech also admitted that he's feeling a heavy amount of pressure, "It's really disappointing for all the people that put their faith in us as a team to see that performance. I cannot express how disappointed people must be feeling. It's tough to rely on others, and yet we're forced to do so if we're going to qualify for the final 16." After their first match draw against Uruguay this season, France is hoping to see a miracle happen. To be in with a shot, the host country South Africa has to be beaten and a decisive win needs to come out of the Mexico vs. Uruguay game. Other matches being played today including England v Slovenia, USA v Slovenia and Germany v Serbia.
