Spurs moved seven points clear of North London rivals Arsenal with a battling 2-1 win at White Hart Lane.Goals from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon were enough to move Villas-Boas' side ahead of Chelsea and into third place in the Premier League. Arsenal's Per Mertesacker scored a consolation goal for Arsene Wenger's men, but some stout defending from the home side, as well as some wasteful possession play from the visitors, ensured the North London team stay in the hunt for a Champions' League place.

Manchester United - inspired by a hat-trick from Shinji Kagawa - cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win against struggling Norwich City. The three points now leave United sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League with a 15-point lead over their nearest rivals.A stunning volley gave United a 1-0 lead at half time, and a further two well taken goals put the result beyond doubt early in the second half. Wayne Rooney then struck a stunning, long-range shot to complete what was a very comfortable victory for the league leaders.
