Manchester United earned a victory over the Gunners only by a slim margin of one goal. Robin van Persie scored the only goal of the match on 26th minute. Despite two heavyweights of English Premier League facing each other, the match was largely uneventful and to some extent an exhibition of lackadaisical gameplay by both the teams.
