Tottenham Storms into the FA CUP Semi-final

Those who were privileged to be at the stadium last night saw a spirited performance of Tottenham that resulted into the team's graduation to the FA Cup semi final. Even though Tottenham's thorough authority over their rival Fulham was evident from the very beginning, yet, they needed the assistance of their substitutes to seal the fate of the match in their favour.

But to be fair to Fulham, the team did not meekly submit to their more illustrious rivals. Instead, Fulham was the first team to score and go into the half time recess with a lead. Bobby Zamora scored in a fine fashion off Damien Duff's pass for Fulham.

The introduction of David Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko on field brought almost instant result for Tottenham. David Bentley scored the first goal for the team before Pavlyuchenko followed the suite. Eidur Gudjohnsen scored the third goal for Tottenham. David Bentley's performance even earned the kudos of Gary Lineker.

Tottenham is now scheduled to meet Portsmouth at the Wembley stadium on 11th April. Ironically, Harry Redknapp led Portsmouth to an FA Cup win back in 2008. Fulham will have to wait till next season for any chance of further improvement to its fortune. But there were plenty to console the club's devoted fan following. The team played consistently well the entire season. This is something they can build their future on.
