Group stages draw for 2010-2011 CL takes place on 26-08

Now the play-offs have officially finished, the Champions League draw is set to take place this Thursday. The announcements will take place on the evening of August 26th, hopefully drawing up some exciting group clashes in the first stage. The first group stage is comprised of 32 clubs with 22 teams getting direct entrance while 10 had to qualify by getting through this season's playoffs.The Champions League draw is set to place at 18:00 CET in Monace. Ten winners of play-off matches, including Tottenham, are joining the automatic entrants to the group stage draw that is set to take place at the Grimaldi Forum. The 32 teams are split into four pots with one name from each being drawn into 8 groups in this stage of the Champions League. No team is allowed to play another from the same football association and this is ensured using the UEFA coefficient system. After the draw, it will be possible to purchase seats at the Champions League Final and for any other Champions League match due to take place this season.
