Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium directions: The stadium is on the north side of Lycabettus Hill, which overlooks Athens. The trolley buses 7, 8 and 14 all stop outside the ground, and the nearest Metro station is Ambelokipi, 200 metres from the stadium entrance.
Description of stadium: For 50 years this was the main stadium in Athens, hosting many domestic and international matches. It was the first stadium to have floodlights and also the first to have a grass pitch. Panathinaikos left in 1984 but returned there in 2001, following refurbishments. The stadium also has other facilities for the sporting departments of Panathinaikos, including a pool and training rooms for boxing and weight-lifting.
